Sweet and Sour Meat Balls (Chelsea)

An easy family appetizer from Chelsea combining meatballs with a sweet and tangy sauce made from chili sauce, cranberry sauce, pineapple and grape jelly. Everything comes together in the slow cooker, making these especially convenient for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag fully cooked meatballs
  • 1 jar chili sauce
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple
  • 1 can cranberry sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup grape jelly

Instructions:

  1. Place the cooked meatballs in a slow cooker.
  2. Add the chili sauce, crushed pineapple, cranberry sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice and grape jelly.
  3. Stir gently to combine and coat the meatballs with the sauce.
  4. Cover and heat in the slow cooker until the meatballs are hot and the sauce is completely melted and blended, stirring occasionally.
  5. Once heated through, set the slow cooker to WARM and serve directly from the crock pot.

Tip: These are ideal for entertaining. Put out toothpicks or small appetizer forks and keep the meatballs warm in the slow cooker throughout the party.
