Merk's Coffee Cake

MERK'S COFFEE CAKE


INGREDIENTS:

1/2 CUP SHORTENING
3/4 CUP SUGAR
1/2 TSP.ALMOND EXTRACT
1 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
3 EGGS
2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR
1 TSP.BAKING POWDER
1 TSP BAKING SODA
1 CUP SOUR CREAM
6 TBS.BUTTEROR MARG SOFTENED
1 CUP BROWN SUGAR PACKED
2 TSP.CINNAMON
1 CUP CHOPPED NUTS

CREAM SHORTENING, SUGAR,ALMOND AND VANILLA THOROUGHLY. ADD EGGS,
SINGLY, BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION. SIFT FLOUR, BAKING
POWDER, AND BAKING SODA TOGETHER. ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE,
ALTERNATELY WITH THE SOUR CREAM, BLENDING AFTER EACH ADDITION.
SPREAD HALF THE MIXTURE IN A BUNDT PAN THAT HAS BEEN GREASED.  A CREAM BUTTER, BROWN SUGAR AND CINNAMON TOGETHER. ADD NUTS; MIX
WELL. DOT BATTER IN PAN WITH HALF OF NUT MIXTURE. COVER WITH
REMAINING BATTER. DOT WITH REMAINING MIXTURE. BAKE AT 3530 DEG.
FOR ABOUT 50 MIN. COOL CAKE ON RACK FOR 10 MIN. REMOVE FROM PAN
AND SPRINKLE WITH CONFECTIONERS SUGAR WHEN COOL
