Cindys Cranberries

A perfect side dish for Thanksgiving or Christmas. The cranberries do not burst when prepared according to the instructions and look like rubies in the serving dish.

Servings: 8

Ingredients:

  • 4 Cups of cranberries (1 bag)
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda

Instructions:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a small sauce pan (1 1/2 quart) and place over medium heat. Stir to dissolve sugar and allow to come to a soft boil.
  2. Reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer gently for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and KEEP COVERED until completely cooled.

Tip: Wait until completely cooled before removing the lid. This keeps the cranberries from bursting.
