MARY BROWN'S CHOCOLATE CAKE
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 CUP BUTTER
1 CUP SUGAR
2 EGGS (ROOM TEMP)
1/2 CUP SOUR CREAM (ROOM TEMP)
1/2 CUP WATER
1 PKG. CHOC CHIPS (1 CUP)
1 TSP. BAKING SODA
1 CUP FLOUR
1 TSP. VANILLA
CREAM THE BUTTER, SUGAR, EGGS, AND SOUR CREAM TOGETHER. HEAT THE WATER AND CHOCOLATE CHIPS TOGETHER UNTIL THE CHOCOLATE HAS MELTED THEN ADD THE BAKING SODA AND ALLOW IT TO FOAM UP. ADD THE CHOCOLATE MIXTURE TO THE CREAMED INGREDIENTS THEN ADD THE FLOUR AND THE VANILLA. BAKE IN AN 8 INCH SQUARE PAN AT 350 DEG. FOR 35-45 F MINUTES. DOUBLE THE RECIPE FOR A 9 X 13 INCH PAN.
